VietnamNet reports that the Vietnam Government has approved a trial of electronic visas for foreign visitors to Vietnam from early 2017.
In the initial phase, e-visas will be issued on a trial basis for tourists from major source markets of Vietnam’s tourism sector, a source from the VNAT said.
However, the Government has not chosen which markets would be included in the trial, the source said.
The top ten source markets in 2015 were China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, the U.S., Russia, Singapore, Thailand and Australia.
Among those major markets, Vietnam has offered visa exemptions for tourists from South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
