Vietnam announces major tourism project

Vietnam’s Prime Minister approved the master plan for developing the Lang Co-Canh Duong National Tourism Site that covers project through to 2025 and outlines a long-term strategy to 2030.

The People’s Committee of Thua Thien- Hue province confirmed Tuesday that the tourism site is located in Chan May-Lang Co Economic Zone, in Lang Co town and Loc Vinh commune, Phu Loc district in Thua Thien – Hue province.

Located in the central coastal province of Thua Thien-Hue the site covers an area of around 9,490 hectares with 1,350 hectares of land set aside for tourism development.

By 2025, the tourism site is expected to become the leading destination of Thua Thien – Hue province and should be a major drawcard to attract tourists to the central region.

Lang Co – Canh Duong has been identified as one of the destinations with strong potential. Lang Co Bay is also recognised as one of the world’s 30 most beautiful bays.

Local media noted that the development will start with low-rise hotels and services associated with marinas, golf courses and other entertainment to be developed south of Lap An Lagoon.

Sports and services related to marinas will be developed in  Lang Co coastal area and at Chan May Port.
