POSTPONEMENT OF THE MEKONG TOURISM FORUM 2020 IN BAGAN, MYANMAR

The 2020 Mekong Tourism Forum and the 45th Tourism Working Group Meeting of the Greater Mekong Subregion is scheduled to be taken place in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Bagan, Myanmar in 2020, hosted by the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism of Myanmar, and organized in collaboration with the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO).

Given the uncertainty and changing situation amidst the outbreak of Corona Virus (COVID-19), we have decided to move the dates, originally scheduled on April 27-29, 2020, as follows:

Ø  TWG-45: August 24-25, 2020

Ø  MTF 2020: August 25-26, 2020

The decision was made with the health and safety of the delegates as the top priority.  This is obviously a very difficult decision to make. While we cannot predict how the situation will develop, we believe it is sensible to postpone this important flagship event.  We are committed to organize the Mekong Tourism Forum to be inclusive and safe for all delegates and participants.
