Travelife is introduced to Myanmar by the NTF III inclusive tourism project of CBI of the Netherlands and International Trade Centre.
A group of Myanmar tour operators which are selected to participate in export marketing plan of the tourism project have a chance to work with Travelife.
“It’s a wonderful initiative for all with a good chance to learn from best practices of responsible tourism and CSR. It’s a long process to achieve but worth it.” said Dr. Lu Mon, managing director of Mira Travels which is awarded with Travelife Partner certification.
The Travelife standard for Tour operators and Travel agencies is based upon the full Corporate Social Responsibility themes, including labour conditions, human rights, environment, biodiversity and fair business practices. The management requirements are compatible with EMAS and ISO 14001. The system provides online training and practical tools for sustainability management and certification.
Travelife is supported by more than 35 national travel associations to further its implementation among members.
Dr. Lu Mon, who is also a vice chairman of Union of Myanmar Travel Association, welcome further action to introduce Travelife to all members of the association.
