Travel Experience
The store nestles under the wing of the Sunflowers Group Social Enterprise, run by artists Maung Maung Thein (Pathein) and Chaw Ei Thein as a gallery and studio for art classes since 1994. Sunflowers Art Organic Dye Textile & Crafts Shop has been established in Yangon in April 2015. At the moment, we are working together with 15 professional weavers, 3 production staffs and 3 office staffs.
Responsibility
The business collaborates with local hand-loom weavers and weaving schools to maintain quality and fair trade as well as create the custom-made design of lotus, silk, cotton and Myanmar Cheik. We serve with a sustainable environment and ethical business practices. We also promote and sell local SMEs and non-profit groups products at our place.
Business Case
Sunflowers Organic Dye Textile & Crafts Shop collaborates with local hand-loom weavers and weaving schools to maintain quality and fair trade. Knitting accessories, crafts, postcards, recycled products reborn as earrings, bracelets, necklaces, traditional shoes and natural-dye cloth, including cotton, silks and lotus produced and designed by rural women or NGOs earnestly improving education or struggling for the rights of old or disabled people.
