Travel Experience

Steps is a social enterprise with a mission to provide training and equal employment opportunities for people with learning differences, including people who have autism, down syndrome, or other learning difficulties. We offer a hands-on learning experience through various business units including coffee shops that allow the trainees to gain both hospitality and soft skills. Furthermore, our family-friendly coffee shops provide an inclusive environment alongside healthy-comfort food selections with options such as gluten-free and vegan that cater to everyone’s needs.

Responsibility

All coffee shop branches under Steps use quality ingredients that are sourced locally. Different types of gluten-free flours that are used in the bakery are mostly organic. Steps also commits to the mission to reduce the use of single-use plastic in all outlets. More importantly, our inclusive coffee shops employ people with learning differences, whether they were Steps graduates or applied through a typical recruitment process.

Business Case

Unequal access to education, employment, and societal negative perceptions towards people with learning differences are the main challenges for this group of people to access equal employment opportunities and live fulfilling and dignified lives. As a social enterprise providing training and employment opportunities for people with learning differences through various types of business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) units, where coffee shops are one of the main platforms, Steps’s mission is to showcase the capabilities of people with learning differences, change negative perceptions, and create a true inclusive society in Thailand.
