Travel Experience
The organization runs trekking tours and homestays throughout the Sapa region, and the cafe in town is a big hit with the local expats, backpackers, and locals alike. Their trekking business is staffed by ex-students and other young people from the local communities. During the tour through the mountains and valleys, the guide will explain about nature and the cultures they grew up in. They specialise in homestay experiences, where the guests are welcomed into a local home and treated to some hill tribe hospitality.
Responsibility
Sapa O'Chau is a grassroots community development project helping Sapa's children and young people gain fair access to education and employment. Their mission is to promote learning, provide sustainable employment, and empower our community. They also help the students enrol in Vietnamese schools, excel in their studies and take advantage of opportunities offered by other organisations. Further vocational training is available through our links with local businesses and NGOs.
Business Case
Donations help the organization keep on going. Its also covers Vietnamese school fees, in-house tutoring to help catch up with peers, accommodation, utilities, food and personal hygiene supplies for Sapas' youth.
