Myanmar Experiences Center (MEX) have served travellers to enjoy their tailor-made experiential learning experiences while helping them to create positive impacts on lives of local communities they visited. MEX offer customized high quality student tours in Myanmar tailored to specific needs of educational institutions, teachers and student tour operators. MEX’s tailor-made programs include student travel packages, voluntourism activities, volunteer programs, community based tourism activities, and service learning programs. MEX values its commitment to achieve their business goals in a sustainable approach. The company believes that the responsible practice of sustainable tourism will create the positive effects on local communities while it will reduce negative social and environmental impacts of tourism.

Responsibility

Myanmar Experiences Center (MEX) was launched in 2018 by Mira Travels as a specialist provider for educational travel / student travel, internships and volunteer placements in Myanmar. MEX is the pioneer educational travel operator in Myanmar. MEX is supported by an International Advisory Board comprised of local and international tourism experts. MEX is also guided by its parent organization’s Mira Travels’ Responsible Tourism Policy which reflects its integration of sustainability concepts to the company’s operation. Mira Travels is awarded with Travelife Partner, a renown sustainability standard in tourism. The award is a recognition for the long-term efforts and frontrunner position of Mira Travels regarding sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility. The company complies with more than 100 criteria, related to an operators’ office management, product range, international business partners and customer information. The Travelife standard is covering the ISO 26000 Corporate Social Responsibility themes, including environment, biodiversity, human rights and labour relations; and is formally recognized as in full compliance with the UN supported Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria. Travelife, which has been established with the support of the European Commission, is the leading international sustainability certification for the travel sector. More than 35 national travel associations are promoting the scheme to their members. Mira Travels commits a strong responsibility towards children and is a proud supporter of Child Safe Tourism campaign. The campaign aims to equip travellers with knowledge and information on simple things one can do to become a child safe traveller.
