Travel Experience

Mulberry is a peaceful and Environmentally-conscious Boutique Resort located in downtown Siem Reap, Cambodia. In addition to being a strong supporter of local communities and of being almost 100% plastic-free, the Hospitality at Mulberry is all about soulful Khmer Hospitality, emphasizing personalized service. They have a versatile yet high-class choice of room types. There is something for everyone at the Mulberry.

Responsibility

Mulberry Management is constantly looking for ways to reduce its environmental impact, particularly since Cambodia is still a country with limited recycling and waste disposal facilities. This is why fully sustainable processes are implemented at all levels of Hotel operations: no single-use plastics, waste reduction programs, trained team members are amongst the most noticeable actions taken. Cleaning their surroundings on a weekly basis and participating in a healthy neighbourhood around them is also a major part of their CSR activities. They are also supporting several educational and healthcare programs in Siem Reap.

Business Case

Following the sudden halt of Tourism in 2020 due to the global pandemic, Mulberry was one of the few hotels to ensure their staffs could keep their jobs. No staff was terminated and they instead launched with two like-minded hotels in Siem Reap (Jaya House River Park, Treeline Urban Resort), the Hotels Joining Hands Initiative (hotelsjoininghands.com) which had for goal to help the most impacted communities through donations of about 400+ meals everyday. About 53.000 meals in bio-degradable packaging were donated and several tons of rice and dry supplies during the year. Hotels Joining Hands Youtube video: https://youtu.be/x4VDw0yQA8s
