The shop sells beautiful, high-quality handicrafts including toys, bags, hand-woven fabrics, homewares and clothes produced by women in surrounding villages.
Responsibility
MBoutik is a social enterprise arm of Action Aid, providing opportunities for marginalised women in rural villages of Bagan. The group also provides support services including literacy and numeracy training, HIV prevention, medical care and treatment programs, gender rights, childcare etc.
Business Case
All the purchases contribute to the empowerment of women and their opportunity to access a sustainable income, learn new skills and have access to many available support services.
