Travel Experience
Doh Eain focuses on heritage conservation and urban renewal, restoring and upgrading heritage building and public spaces in Yangon together with residents. Doh Eain offers walking tours beginning at their office on 41st Street, first introducing you to the project, passing by some of their workspaces, and hearing some of the local stories the past, and the exciting future of downtown Yangon. This tour will show you unique urban characteristics of Yangon in terms of its planning and design and social dynamics. We will explore one of the hidden alleyways of downtown, where Doh Eain is working with diverse communities to transform former waste dumps to vibrant places where people can meet and play; and helps to tackle the growing waste management challenges.
Responsibility
Doh Eain preserves heritage, improves public spaces and organises activities that connect people with places, employing a user-centred, participatory approach. In doing this we aim to inspire and enable people to participate in re-shaping their city while retaining cultural heritage.
Business Case
By taking a walking tour, at the same time, you support our mission because all proceeds of this tour will go towards the upkeep of the alleyways and other projects, while the attention will support ownership and pride in the alleyway neighbourhoods and homeowners we work with.
