Travel Experience
Trek, cycle, kayak or boat in the Cardamon Mountains to discover the real, peaceful Cambodia, far from the crowds. Guides, once poachers, lead you on jungle treks to waterfalls, grasslands and mountains that they know well, but few others have seen.
Responsibility
Wildlife Alliance chose to directly address the underlying causes of forest destruction —the poverty of its residents— by promoting programs that generate income. Illegal forest activities have significantly diminished and community members are showing signs of emerging prosperity. People now realize they have a stake in the area’s continued protection and health.
Business Case
Chipat Village is an ecotourism, in 2007 Wildlife Alliance started a program in the Chi Phat area in the Cardamom Mountains to educate and help the community make their living from tourism instead of animal trafficking.
