IndiGo says it has received clearance from the Vietnam air regulator to launch flights to Hanoi.
It will soon ‘be putting the flight out for sale,’ said IndiGo chief commercial officer, William Boulter, and is also eyeing a new service to Ho Chi Minh City. It will announce details of the flight launch soon, it said.
Southeast Asia is the main focus for expansion, IndiGo recently said, and comes days after a new route to Yangon, Myanmar was unveiled. Other routes linking India with the ASEAN bloc include Bangkok, Phuket and Singapore.
“Of our total expansion this year, roughly 50% will be on international operations,” Boulter said.
The airline also announced another route to China with Delhi-Chengdu flights beginning on September 15.
