Golden Triangle Triathlon 2016If you’re into exercise and like doing it the hard way—the tri way—then don’t miss the Golden Triangle Triathlon next year.

The 2016 event in April was a success, once again, with nearly 200 athletes swimming the Mekong River from Laos to Thailand (Chiang Saen); riding bikes to the Thai-Myanmar border at Mae Sai-Tachileik; and running across into Myanmar to the Tachileik Swedagon Pagoda and back to Mae Sai.

Preparations and logistics were excellent, and the race was improved with more time allocated for the border crossing into Myanmar so that non-athletes such as myself had enough time to cross the border and run (OK, I walked the last bit) to the Swedagon Pagoda.
