Laos will celebrate the end of Buddhist Lent on October 13, three lunar months after Khao Phansa (the start of Buddhist Lent). On this day, at dawn, donations and offerings are made at temples around the country; in the evening, candlelight processions are held around religious sites.

Local residents move in the evening en masse to bodies of water to release Lai Huea Fai (or Loi Kra Tong) – small floats made out of banana leaves and richly decorated with candles and flowers for good fortune.
