The Royal Ploughing Ceremony (or “Preah Reach Pithi Bonn Chrot Preah Neangkol” in Khmer) marks the beginning of the rice planting season and is considered one of the more auspicious events in the Kingdom of Cambodia. A royal rite that has seen its continuation for decades, it is the time of the year where the green season commences and where the farming community prepares for the coming months of planting, seeding and harvesting.
Frequently attended by H.M. The King of Cambodia, the event switches location depending on the local authorities yet continues to follow the same traditions.
