11 December 2009 NEW CAVE TOUR HIGHLIGHT AMERICA’S SECRET WAR IN LAOS


VIENGXAY, LAOS -- A new audio tour launched November 18th in a remote corner of Indochina brings alive the story of America’s secret war in Laos. Between 1964 and 1973 America, which was at war with North Vietnam, secretly dropped more bombs on neighboring Laos than were dropped on Europe in the whole of World War II.

The Mekong Region is again on display as Ho Chi Minh City hosts the 5th International Travel Expo. This year’s editions will be held from October 1-3 at the Phu Tho Exhibition Center.

The session provided industry leaders with "a strategic framework to plan for the sub-region and to enable them to understand and respond to strategic trends and developments".

11 December 2009 ADB Approves US$10 Millon Loan To Cambodia

(RTTNews) - The Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved a US$10 million loan to Cambodia, designed to ease the effects of the global slowdown and improve Cambodia’s financial system. This is part of the ongoing ADB second sector program support which assists the country in further developing its financial system.



The tourism sector was designated as one of the 11 flagship programs of the GMS Economic Cooperation Program in recognition of the important contribution it could make toward socio-economic development and the conservation of natural and cultural heritage resources.
