The International Travel Expo, Ho Chi Minh City 2015 (ITE-HCMC) opens its doors from 10-12 September 2015, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center – District 07, HCMC. This exhibition is jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, under the guideline of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee.

 

This year, the event promises to showcase more of Vietnam’s mystic beauties and tourism prospects for the global travel industry. Primarily aiming the ASEAN countries, the event over the last decade has slowly developed to become one of the major drivers of tourism industry in Vietnam.

 

For those quintessential travelers, who are yet to witness Vietnam, here is a glimpse of the experiences that you have missed all these years…

 

Food

Yes! No matter in which part of the world you are, if the food is good, everything automatically falls in place. And the Vietnamese street foods along with the celebrated cuisines will definitely not upset you. In fact, the best place to eat in Vietnam is on little, plastic stools on the side walk. Be it the noodle soups with the iconic pho or bun ca (the fish and pork-based soup), or the bun cha – char-grilled pork served over rice noodles with herbs and dipping sauces, Vietnam locals will always love to welcome you with a warm-hearted smile.

 

History

Tumultuous and complex are possibly the best words to explain Vietnam’s history. Colonial influences are evident as you walk the city roads. The aftermath of the Vietnam War is apparent too — in the museums and monuments but also in the faces and stories of survivors and the overwhelmingly young population. Those who appreciate and believe that history will always remain interwoven in the present scenarios; it will be captivating for them. And isn’t it always great to know about the tales which left a mark on the world history?

ITE-HCMC 2015 will be focussing on the Route to World Heritages in greater MEKONG, another surreal site of historic and architectural excellence.

Architecture and culture

There are a large number of well-preserved temples which stands to tell the tales of culture spanning hundreds of years. The Temple of Literature in Hanoi is devoted to Confucius and scholars in general. Built in 1070, it hosts Vietnam’s first national university. You will also find large number of stelae which are raised to commemorate the achievements of great scholars throughout the years

 

Mekong Delta

The area near the South-western Vietnam the Mekong River dumps into the sea which creates a spectacular view. No matter how many times you have already been to the place, traveling up the backwaters will always be a charming experience.

One of the most unsung beauties of the country, Vietnam’s beaches might for a moment make the visitors confuse them as ones in Thailand or Cambodia. Nha Trang and Mui Ne are the ones which see the footfall of quite a number of foreign travelers but the beaches like Doc Let equally charming. Con Dao and Phu Quoc are some of the most gorgeous islands in South East Asia. Do visit them on your next trip to Vietnam.

 

Caves

Son Doong Cave, the biggest cave in the world is in Vietnam. Mammoth caves which actually hold the entire jungles as well as the lakes are found and still leaves us with the scope of further discovery. Well, these trips are definitely for the adventure traveler in you!

Vietnam is a well-known destination among budget travelers. No matter how much the price daunts these days, it is still cheaper than visiting most of the other Southeast Asian countries.

The role of ITE HCMC in promoting Vietnam

In 2014, ITE HCMC attracted 320 exhibiting companies from 21 countries and welcomed 22,000 international and domestic visitors (20% increase from 2013), cementing its status as one of the fastest growing international tourism trade events in the region.

 

In 2015, ITE HCMC promises to stage another successful event enhancing the tourism prospects of Vietnam and revitalizing the economy of the country by many folds.

 

ITE HCMC will take place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center – SECC 10th of September to 12th of September.
