Announced last February, helicopter tours are into a reality now, thanks to the Vietnam Helicopter Corporation based in Danang, Central Vietnam. The first flights started last April, using French-built helicopter EC 130 T2 that can take six tourists on one trip. A 15-minutes trip over Danang famous bay costs the equivalent of US$118 (VND2.5 million) while a 25-minute fly is charged at US$165 per passenger.
The service can also include tours over Cu Lao Cham, My Son, Ly Son and Dong Hoi, which are famous for their caves and Cham temples.
Danang is an increasingly popular destination and was the hosting city of the last edition of the Mekong Tourism Forum which took place at the Novotel in the city centre from June 15 to 19.
